Bridging Continents at INA-LAC 2024 to Strengthen Indonesia-Latin America Economic Ties

The Indonesia-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Forum (INA-LAC) 2024, held in Lima, Peru, from September 11-13, 2024, was a strategic step toward strengthening trade relations between Indonesia and countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Under the theme "Encouraging Growth, Strengthening Communities," the event attracted participation from 56 companies, educational institutions, and various business entities from both regions. Over the course of three days, the total transaction value exceeded $1 billion, reflecting Indonesia's determination to expand trade and investment relations.

This forum was the largest business event ever organized by Indonesia in the Latin America and Caribbean region. It was attended not only by business leaders but also by high-ranking officials from both regions, including Peru's Deputy Minister of Trade, Teresa Mera Gomez, and ambassadors from friendly nations. A total of 46 Indonesian companies from various sectors showcased their top products during the exhibition.

The Latin American and Caribbean region is increasingly regarded as a strategic market for Indonesia. Although separated by considerable geographical distance, the success of this forum demonstrates that distance is no longer a major obstacle to expanding economic relations. Peru's Vice Minister emphasized the significance of INA-LAC as a platform for strengthening business networks and opening opportunities for collaboration.

With activities such as business matching, CEO talks, and product promotions, INA-LAC 2024 successfully created an innovative platform to deepen economic cooperation between the two regions. Moving forward, Indonesia is expected to continue enhancing its interactions with Latin America and the Caribbean through various strategic measures and forums like INA-LAC.

As a forum that brought together key stakeholders from two geographically distant regions, INA-LAC 2024 proved that distance is no barrier to strengthening economic ties. With transactions exceeding IDR 16.2 trillion, the forum underscored the importance of Latin America and the Caribbean as strategic trading partners for Indonesia.

This achievement not only reflects Indonesia's dedication to expanding export markets and enhancing investment partnerships, but also proves that global challenges can be addressed through innovation and collaboration. Moving forward, it is expected that the economic ties between Indonesia and Latin American and Caribbean nations will grow stronger, unlocking further potential for shared prosperity and strengthened communities across both regions.
